Caro, writer of Spain Destination

About the author

Hola, I’m Caro

I’ve spent the last 15 years living and traveling across Spain, and I still find corners of this country that surprise me. I’m not here to sell you a postcard version of Spain. I’m here to show you the real one.

Every guide on this site comes from my own experience: the restaurants I actually eat at, the routes I walk, the festivals I’ve stood in the middle of. From hidden villages in Andalusia to the windswept coasts of Galicia, I write down what matters and skip the rest.

One honest guide at a time.

Why this site exists

Built out of frustration

Spain Destination started with a simple frustration: most travel sites about Spain are either recycled listicles, built to serve advertisers first, or written by someone who’s never actually walked the streets they’re describing.

I wanted something different: guides with real prices in euros, honest opinions, and no pay-to-play recommendations. So that’s what I built.

Our approach

Every guide on this site is researched carefully and written to be genuinely useful, not padded out to rank higher on Google. I’d rather publish 50 guides you can trust than 500 you can’t.

No one can pay to be recommended here. If something’s included, it’s because I think it’s worth your time. Some booking links are affiliate links — if you book through them I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you, and it never changes what I recommend. Details in the affiliate disclosure.

Got a question or a correction?

Spain is a big country and things change fast: a restaurant closes, a festival date shifts, a road gets rerouted. If you spot something out of date or have a tip to share, I’d love to hear it.
